The perfect place for a relaxing day trip or refreshing getaway.
In early 2008 our much anticipated cafe was opened at long last. Designed to showcase the natural grandeur of the area, it is bordered on three sides by a stream and sits below steep green hills that are full of protruding limestone.
On arrival at the cafe you will see large limestone pavers and native planting, a reception desk made from an old wool-press, and then be amazed as you enter the main room – a high ceiling and tall cathedral style window contribute to the feeling of spaciousness and allow plenty of light to come in.
You can sit at beautiful macrocarpa tables, inside or out, or perhaps on the couch by the fire. The verandah bartop offers unobstructed views of the surroundings, and a good place to watch birds fly, stock grazing, or keep an eye on the children's garden. Of course it's even better with a nice juice or good espresso coffee!
We are very proud to be serving Zeke's coffee - the Gold medal winner for NZ Roasted Espresso in the 2008 NZ Coffee Festival - so we really do get the best beans in the country.
There are a range of food options from sweet treats to delicious meals so you won't need to rush away. Come and make a day of it!
